Firearm deer season is tomorrow and Northern Meats is the place for hunters to pick up a wide variety of delicious homemade beef jerky. Smokehouse Glenn brought in two of several of his beef jerky flavor varieties. Kippered and Jalapeno beef jerky both made from Glenn’s premium beef, sliced thin and seasoned in Northern Meat’s kitchen.

Smokehouse Glenn's homemade goodness!!!

Both of these flavors of jerky were delicious, even the Jalapeno flavor. Smokehouse Glenn working in close conjunction with his flavor neighbor, Spicy Jo created outstanding taste. Don’t be turned away from the flavor name, Jalapeno – Glenn has used just a slight amount of this pepper flavoring to grab the interest of your taste buds, causing you to say, “WOW, this is really good for jalapeno!!!

The kippered jerky was tasty with a smoked and salty flavor, excellent for generating a hearty thirst for something cold and refreshing. I mentioned that the aroma from this jerky would draw the deer into your hunting spot without any bait.

Glenn also brought in two samples of seasoning combinations from Northern Yeats’s neighbor, Spicy Jo’s. Chili Seasoning and Turkey Rub both have their own unique combinations of spices for a variety of uses.

The Chili Seasoning reminded me of a spice combination I use on my baked chicken dishes at home. The Turkey Rub would be an excellent flavor treatment to your Thanksgiving bird. Soften up a stick of butter; using a fork, blend the Turkey Rug in the butter then spread it ALL OVER the skin of your turkey before placing it in the oven.
